We went to the Festival of the Arts on Saturday with our nieces, my sister-in-law (sheldon's sister), and some friends of the family. The weather was perfect so of course there were about a million people out. To keep from losing the 4 children we had with us we opted out of viewing the art and found a small plot of shade by one of the stages with a huge field for the kids to run around in. The girls decided they wanted to use my camera so I helped them take some pictures (with the auto focus turned on). Most of the one's pictured above are photos they took with my help.
I just recently switched to using my camera in manual mode instead of aperture priority mode so it was quite the little challenge for me switching to taking pictures of the kids playing in the field and then back to pictures in the shade. I thought it worked out pretty well for a first try and I'm glad I'm finally getting comfortable with my camera. It's only taken me 2 years! I'm good at staying in a comfort zone for a good long time thank you very much.
I have always admired Danielle's beautifully laid out posts (example) so I thought I'd try my hand at it. It's kind of nice to make a little scrapbook style layout every now and then. I also used some of Danielle's Kitschy Digitals elements and papers for this layout and you can find links to those below.
