I finally got a much needed road trip. It really was a lovely weekend. My b-fri Gypsy and I went to Texas on Friday night to visit some of his Oxford friends. They were wonderful hosts and all around good people. We went to IKEA on Saturday, where I was busy making an inventory of what I had to eventually get for my apartment (which is coming sooner than I want to believe) and we ate Swedish meatballs there for lunch. HA! We went with them to Mass that evening (a new experience for me), which I thoroughly enjoyed. They took us to
Fuzzy's Tacos for dinner. I am all about eating at regional places and this one did not disappoint. Yum! Then we went out to talk and have drinks. It was a lot of fun and although I didn't get much rest, I had a blast and was very happy to be out of town and make some new friends.

My yarn for Wicked and the shawl came in on Thursday. I also got some Options Needles to try out!!! Let me sing praises of the Knitpick's Options needles!!!! They are amazing and I can not wait to use them. I have the Denise needle set, but I'm ready to throw those out after getting to see these.
I started the shawl (as you can see from the previous post). I am happy to say that I didn't get much of any thing done on it this weekend, but as of tonight I am on the second pattern repeat (about 16 rows in). Kind of sad. I had to rip it out a lot because I just wasn't able to concentrate on the pattern enough to make it work. I'm on a roll now.

Here is the progress of the shirts I am making...

Not promising. I think I'll be taking them to work tomorrow to cut during my breaks.
Ok I'm officially pooped from this weekend and must get in bed.
